Classic (Swedish) massage is the most commonly practised massage therapy and offers you a wonderful relaxing and rejuvenating experience. It is a whole-body therapeutic massage treatment that works the soft tissues and muscles to help restore health – creating a calming and balancing effect on the nervous system. It is incredibly enjoyable and restorative and has an overall effect on your wellbeing.
Deep tissue full-body massage is a type of massage that focuses on the deep layers of muscles and connective tissues in the body. It is often used to relieve the areas of tension and pain and relieve knots and adhesions within the deep muscle and fascia. It can cause minor discomfort or even a little pain in the areas causing problems. The discomfort is typical for this kind of massage therapy. Most clients call it the “good hurt”, where it’s somewhat uncomfortable but gives relief and relaxation after.
This technique is proven to increase the muscle’s flexibility, alleviate pain, improve posture, and leave the patient with a sense of relaxation.
Deep tissue massage is recommended for clients with some tolerance to discomfort and pain. The benefits of deep tissue therapy don’t need to be painful or excruciatingly painful. You can ask for lower pressure or intensity or only work on specific areas.
